Sunshine and comfortable weather continues through Tuesday, then rain and snow settles back into the forecast.
Monday and Tuesday
After a wet and windy weekend, sunny skies have returned across the state. The one exception Monday morning is some areas of fog near the Red River Valley, but those will lift through the morning and sunshine will prevail there too.
Skies will remain mostly sunny Tuesday as well, with more clouds moving into western Minnesota through the afternoon.
Temperatures will be noticeably warmer than the weekend. Other than a few parts of northern Minnesota, the whole state will make it into the 50s both days.

Winds are also lighter, meaning wind chill is not a concern.
Overall, both days will be pleasant for spending time outdoors!
Wet weather returns
The weather becomes active again by midweek, and already Wednesday morning, most of Minnesota has chances for rain, with some snow mixing in northward.
Periods of rain and breezy conditions linger through Friday. Snow will also mix in, particularly for northern Minnesota during the overnight periods when temperatures are colder, and on Friday, when the system brings cooler air across the state.
Accumulation is likely for northern Minnesota but forecast snow totals are still uncertain given it will be a mix of precipitation types. Southern Minnesota could see a few thunderstorms, especially Thursday, but no severe weather is expected.
The biggest concern is likely the precipitation totals, because much of the state could see an inch or more from Wednesday to Friday.
That will add to already existing flood concerns along some of our rivers.
Here is the extended forecast for the Twin Cities through Friday:
