On Thursday, Gov. Tim Walz announced schools will be closed for the remainder of the school year. Distance learning has been a challenge across the board, and teachers have been trying to quickly adjust to a new reality where students are much harder to reach. In his announcement, Gov. Walz acknowledged that he is worried the state's racial and economic disparities in education will deepen.
Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer spoke with South St. Paul Secondary School math teacher and former Minnesota Teacher of the Year Jess Davis about how teachers and students are faring with distance learning.
