A tornado in Otter Tail County Wednesday reportedly killed one person and damaged 3 farmsteads. It also produced some of the most photogenic tornado video I have ever seen.
Twin Cities-based storm chaser Michael Marz captured this incredible video of the tornado cutting through what looks like a soybean field.
There are numerous other images of the twister as it cut a swath through open fields in Otter Tail County.
This video shows the violent rotation within the tornado.
The tornado crossed I-94 and reportedly damaged 3 farmsteads according to this severe storm generated by the Grand Forks NWS office.
5 ESE Dalton [Otter Tail Co, MN] PUBLIC reports TORNADO at 5:30 PM CDT -- 3 FARMSTEADS HAVE BEEN HIT. TORNADO CURRENTLY AT 295TH AND STATE HIGHWAY 82. TORNADO CROSSED I-94, BUT NO VEHICLES WERE AFFECTED.
The tornado eventually diminished into what’s called the rope phase.
The risk for severe weather and a severe thunderstorm watch continues into Wednesday night across much of Minnesota.
