At the end of a year dominated by headlines about the pandemic, politics and the economy, here’s one you might have missed: the state’s top bear biologist has retired, after 37 years on the job.
Dave Garshelis stepped down last month from his role as the DNR’s bear project leader. He spoke with MPR News host Cathy Wurzer about what he’s learned over the years, and what comes next.
