The 2021-2022 snowfall season is off and running across Minnesota.
Our weekend clipper dropped about 1 to 3 inches of snow across the greater Twin Cities. Snowfall totals of 4 to 5 inches favored areas in central Minnesota from the Brainerd Lakes area through Mora.
Overall, some locations in northern Minnesota picked up between 5 and 10 inches with the two systems last week.
November is half in the weather books now. So far this month most of southern Minnesota has seen anywhere from a coating to around 2 inches of snow. Most of central and northern Minnesota has picked up between 2 and 10 inches.

Here’s the November snowfall map for the Midwest from the Midwest Regional Climate Center.
Here are some select November snowfall totals compared to the average in our region through mid-November. Most areas are running just a little below the seasonal average so far.
Twin Cities: 1.2 inches (average 3.3)
Duluth: 4.9 inches (average 8.8)
International Falls: 6.6 inches (average 6.5)
Fargo-Moorhead: 2.8 inches (average 3.7)
The average first 1-inch snowfall for the Twin Cities area is Nov. 18, so we're a little ahead of schedule this season with our first inch that fell on Saturday.
Right now the forecast looks fairly quiet in terms of snowfall this week. The forecast models are hinting at the potential for snow again during Thanksgiving week.
