It’s a mild start to the day coming off our 43 degree high Tuesday afternoon. While Tuesday wasn’t a record (it’s 50 set back in 2002) it was in the top 12 percent of high temperatures for Feb. 8, so that’s something.
Temperatures aren’t going to budge nearly as much Wednesday as they did from Tuesday’s morning lows to afternoon highs. Cooler air is flowing in behind a weak cool front. We’ll stay nearly steady in the Twin Cities in the mid-30s, dropping to the low 30s by afternoon while northern Minnesota holds in the 20s.
Snow showers will fall across northern Minnesota and we’ll see scattered flurries in the southern part of the state.
Northwest winds will be blustery through the day and make those temperatures in the 30s feel more like 20 at times.

Temperatures overnight Wednesday night will be colder with teens in the south and single digits in the north to start early Thursday morning.
While Thursday will be mild, we have the next chance of precipitation.
Some areas in southwest Minnesota will be warm enough to see rain/snow mixed showers and all snow in northeastern Minnesota. In the Twin Cities we could see around 1 inch, while several inches will fall north and east.
Behind Thursday’s system colder air will start to move north to south Friday. Many of us will be back below zero early Saturday with highs only in the teens Saturday afternoon. The cold snap should be short-lived however.
