Here we go again! A cold front has swept through most of Minnesota during the predawn hours Wednesday. Temperatures range from the low 30s in the southeast to just above zero in the northwest. Colder air will push through from the northwest through the day.

After dark, temperatures in southern Minnesota will be in the teens and northern Minnesota will quickly drop below zero.

The coldest low temperatures early Thursday will range from 10 to 20 below zero in the north, to just around zero in the Twin Cities area.

High temperatures Thursday afternoon will be well below normal, but for just one day. However, we should see a fair amount of sunshine.

Warmer air streams in on Friday pushing temperatures in southern Minnesota into the 30s, 20s north.

With the return of warmer air will come the next clipper system Friday. It will spread snow showers across Minnesota. Northern and central Minnesota stand to see the best chance of a fresh coating with just scattered snow showers farther south.

Temperatures will be even milder by Sunday and there’s a growing potential of a more significant storm system early next week to keep our eye on.
