The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado watch for parts of southern Minnesota Tuesday until 10 p.m.
The watch zone includes much of the Interstate 90 corridor in southern Minnesota. It also runs northward to around Mankato.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of North Central Iowa South Central Minnesota
* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 510 PM until 1000 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include... Several tornadoes and a couple intense tornadoes likely Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5 inches in diameter likely Widespread damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to intensify rapidly this afternoon and early evening over northern Iowa, and track northward into southern Minnesota. Supercell storms capable of very large hail and a few tornadoes may occur. Strong tornadoes are possible.
