Highs will range from the 40s to the low 60s Wednesday with scattered showers possible. Thursday will be cooler with highs in the 40s and low 50s. Temperatures stay below normal into next week.
Wednesday’s a day of transition
High temperatures Wednesday will be nearly 20 degrees colder than Tuesday with highs mainly ranging from the upper 40s in northern Minnesota to low 60s in southern Minnesota.
We’ll have gusty west and northwest winds ushering in the colder air for the next few days.
With lingering moisture and warmth in the lower atmosphere, we’ll see scattered instability showers develop midday into the afternoon Wednesday as the middle layers of the atmosphere rapidly cool.

Some frosty, freezing nights ahead
High temperatures Thursday will be even cooler, mainly in the 40s to low 50s. Expect similar readings into next week.
The chilly days will set up for frosty and freezing nights. Thursday night will see temperatures drop to or below freezing nearly statewide.
Temperatures will dip even a bit more early next week with highs only in the 40s and 30s, making for our coldest night yet Monday night.
There are indications of 60s, maybe even 70 returning by the end of next week, or in the days before October ends.
