Some snow fell overnight and additional periods of snow are in the forecast Sunday. The snow lingers into Sunday night and Monday in portions of northeastern Minnesota, far southeastern Minnesota and much of Wisconsin.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s High-Resolution Rapid Refresh models show the potential precipitation pattern from 10 a.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Monday:

Snow totals are highest where there was an earlier changeover to snow Saturday night.
The 7 a.m. snow total at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was three-tenths of an inch. The National Weather Service office in Chanhassen has tallied 1.8 inches so far.

If you are measuring snow, it’s best to average as least three measurements in spots with little or no drifting. Don’t measure in areas where the snow may have blown off a roof.

Snow develops this afternoon and increases in intensity overnight along and east of the Mississippi River where snowfall rates will likely exceed an inch per hour. Initial snowfall accumulations this afternoon will be tempered by melting, but as the sun sets and temperatures fall, rapid snow accumulation is expected. Total snow amounts will vary widely over short distances, but the highest amounts of 6 to 12 inches should fall along a north to south band from southwest into central Wisconsin by Monday morning. There’s a wind advisory for the Twin Cities metro area and much of the southern half of Minnesota Sunday afternoon and evening, with wind gusts up to 45 mph possible at times.
