Wednesday will be cooler with highs in the 70s south to 60s north. Dew points will continue to fall to September-like levels. Wednesday night will see temps dip into the 50s and 40s.
Coolest blast of air in weeks
Temperatures will be five to 10 degrees cooler than normal, something that’s been rare since early May in the region with the consistent heat. Highs will range from the mid 70s south to just the mid 60s in parts of northern Minnesota. There will be some lingering cloud cover.

Dew points will continue to drop in southeast Minnesota where some muggy air lingers early Wednesday. Statewide dew points will be in the 40s by the end of the day. That kind of dry air makes it feel more like September than July.

Overnight lows Wednesday night into early Thursday morning will be some of the coolest in nearly three weeks. The Twin Cities hasn’t officially dipped below 60 degrees since mid June. Northern and western Minnesota will see widespread lows in the 40s.

Thursday will see highs mostly in the 70s again under partly cloudy skies. Clouds increase Friday as the next upper level disturbance brings the chance of some showers and thunder to mainly northern Minnesota. Temperatures will be back around or above normal by the weekend.
