Thursday will be cooler and still windy, but from the northwest. Smoke is back in the skies creating air quality issues. Heat builds in for the weekend.
Cooler, windy Thursday with reduced air quality
It’ll still be windy Thursday but from a cooler, northwest direction. Winds will be 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
High temperatures will range from just around 70 in the northeast to the upper 70s south.
An air quality alert is in effect as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to flow in behind last night’s cold front.

Friday will be more seasonable with highs returning into the 80s. Muggy air will push back into western Minnesota by late in the day. Heat is still on track for the weekend with highs returning to the 90s Saturday and Sunday for much of southern and western Minnesota.
