The week continues to be cold with a clipper system bringing snowfall Monday night. We’ll see a warming trend with temperatures close to normal by the end of the week.
Cold continues with snow on the way
Monday continues where the weekend left off: cold. Highs will continue to be below normal, in the upper 20s north to near 40 in southwestern Minnesota Monday. Clouds will increase through the day.

A clipper system is moving across Canada and diving south and southeast into Minnesota later in the day Monday.

Look for snow showers to develop across northwestern Minnesota early Monday afternoon and reach central Minnesota by Monday evening into southeastern Minnesota overnight into early Tuesday.

Snowfall totals will be generally around an inch or less for most but there will be pockets of locally higher amounts of near 2 inches.

Warming trend late week
Tuesday will be cold and windy with morning and midday winds of 10-20 mph from the northwest behind the clipper.

Highs Tuesday will again be cold, mostly in the 30s. It’ll be the coldest Halloween in four years. Temperatures by trick-or-treat time will be below freezing for most but winds will be calmer, under 10 mph.

A warming trend then commences mid to late week as the upper level pattern switches from northwest flow to a zonal flow (west to east).

High temperatures by Friday will be closer to normal with highs in the upper 40s to even near 50 in southern Minnesota.
