Here we go again.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has opened voting on its now seemingly annual “Name a Snowplow” contest.
This year’s list of 50 finalists comes from around 800 submissions. The list includes references to pop artists and songs, film and literary works, and even Minnesota’s state motto, L'Étoile du Nord.
Voters may only vote once and select up to eight names. Voting is open through Sunday, Jan. 28.
Previous winners include:
Sleetwood Mac
Blizzo
Better Call Salt
Betty Whiteout
Ctrl Salt Delete
The Big Leplowski
Edward Blizzardhands
Plowy McPlowFace
Plow Bunyan
Snowbi Wan Kenobi
F. Salt Fitzgerald
Darth Blader
My personal favorites this year include Best in Snow, Flake Superior, L’Plow du Nord, Alice Scooper, Sweet Child O’ Brine, and Taylor Drift.
