Clouds are increasing and thickening up ahead of the next disturbance, which will bring scattered light rain showers later Monday. It will be windy again. The sun returns Wednesday.
Windy Monday with chance of scattered rain
The next disturbance and cold front is moving through the region Monday increasing the cloud cover and developing some widely scattered light rain showers late in the day with a lingering chance into Tuesday.
Rainfall amounts will be fairly light this go around. Western Minnesota may see very little while eastern Minnesota could see up to one-tenth of an inch or so.
Highs Monday will be in the upper 60s south to low 60s north. Cooler readings, in the 50s will occur near Lake Superior.

Get ready for yet more wind too. Monday the winds will be from the south-southwest at 15-25 mph but switch from the northwest behind a cold front Monday night for Tuesday.
There’s a wind advisory posted for south-central Minnesota from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m. Monday with wind gusts over 40 mph blowing as a crosswind across Interstate 90.
As mentioned, there will be a few instability driven, pop-up showers possible Tuesday.
In total between Monday and Tuesday, rainfall amounts will be considerably lighter than our last couple of storm systems.
Highs Tuesday will be cooler, in the low 60s and 50s mostly with 40s along the North Shore.
Tuesday night will bring one last chilly night with widespread lows in the 20s north to near freezing south.
Sunshine returns for Wednesday and Thursday with warmer temperatures again by Thursday. The week could end stormy as warmer, more humid air and the next system develops for Thursday night into Friday and Saturday.
