A low pressure system will continue to push eastward towards Lake Michigan for Thursday. Lingering cloud cover with widely scattered showers continue for our Thursday. Northwestern Minnesota will see more sunshine today, and see the warmest temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Elsewhere we will see cooler highs in the upper 70s to low 80s through Thursday afternoon.

Last warm, muggy day for awhile

After a warmup back into the 80s and low 90s for Friday, we will see our last warm, muggy day on Saturday before a change in the weather pattern brings cooler temperatures. Highs for the first full week of August will be below average in the 70s, with lows in the 50s and 60s.

Additional storm reports; hail, wind and rain

Multiple storm reports have filtered in since Wednesday night. Reports of large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall were reported across a large portion of the state.

Southeastern Minnesota saw a deluge of rainfall. Wabasha, Steele and Goodhue counties saw the highest rainfall amounts according to CoCoRaHS precipitation records. Highest rainfall amount reported was in Elgin-Wabasha county at 6.95 inches. Multiple reports of 3-5 inches of rainfall.
