A fresh Canadian breeze blows mild, comfortable air across our region all week. You can give the AC a rest. It’s a windows open forecast for Minnesota this week.
The Twin Cities National Weather Service office still has field crews across southern Minnesota assessing tornado damage from Monday evening’s storms. We’ll likely learn more on that by Tuesday evening.
In the meantime, crank open those windows and let the fresh air in.

Good sleeping weather will grace Minnesota overnight. Lows will fall into the comfy 50s with a few 40s in the cooler nooks and crannies up north like Embarrass and Tower.
Highs in the 70s will be the rule this week.
Next rain chance Wednesday night
Our next rain chances arrive Wednesday through Wednesday night from northern Minnesota into the Twin Cities.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s NAM 3 km model shows scattered rain and thunderstorms moving from northwestern Minnesota east between Wednesday afternoon and night.
The forecast model loop below runs between 1 p.m. Wednesday and 4 a.m. Thursday.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center paints a marginal (category 1 of 5) risk for severe storms across western Minnesota Wednesday.
Mild again next week
NOAA’s temperature outlooks for next week favor cooler-than-normal temperatures across our region. It looks like our comfortable weather will persist into next week.
There are some signs we may warm up again in time for the Minnesota State Fair. The Great Minnesota Get-Together starts two weeks from Thursday.
