After some already record-setting rainy weather from July, early August got to see more precipitation brought on by thunderstorms. Some areas saw hail, strong winds and even tornadoes, according to meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley.
The National Weather Service reported a tornado touched down in Minnesota on Aug. 3 in Stearns County, in the central part of the state. Tornadoes were also reported in the south Monday, Aug. 5. Winds ranged from 95-105 mph.
MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with Seeley about the windy weather in their weekly chat.
