Possible clouds for Perseid meteor shower; summer conditions returning

Isolated rain chances for southern Minnesota

The annual Perseid meteor shower
A Perseid meteor streaks across the sky above desert pine trees on Aug. 13, 2015, in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area in Nevada. The annual display, known as the Perseid shower because the meteors appear to radiate from the constellation Perseus in the northeastern sky, is a result of Earth's orbit passing through debris from the comet Swift-Tuttle.

Perseids peak tonight

The Perseid meteor showers will peak Sunday night into early Monday morning. Some cloud cover is possible for mainly southern Minnesota. A few of the computer models are showing some breaking of the cloud cover for the metro area just in time for viewing. For more information on how to watch check out this article.
