We should finally see more normal temperatures again this week. That means highs in the low 80s for southern Minnesota and mid-70s to the north. We’ll also see a chance of thunder later this week.
A warmer week ahead with thunder chances midweek as dew points increase
An upper level disturbance will help keep some spotty showers around in southwest Minnesota and isolated showers for northeast Minnesota on Monday. In between most of us in central and northwest Minnesota will see plenty of sun.
Highs Monday will be closer to 80 for the Twin Cities and parts of the Red River Valley. The rest of the state will see highs in the mid to upper 70s — closer to normal.
Tuesday will be a bit warmer with more widespread 80-degree readings in southern and western Minnesota. We’ll also see mostly sunny skies.
As dew points increase midweek — back to 60 degrees or higher — so too will the chance of some showers and thunderstorms. Get ready for “stickier” dew points midweek into the weekend.
Western Minnesota will see some activity Wednesday, and then that activity could spread statewide Wednesday night into Thursday and perhaps even Friday.
Overall, temperatures will be warmer than last week and remain closer to normal if not slightly above. The 6-10 day temperature outlook calls for slightly better odds than not of above-normal temperatures for much of Minnesota.
