We’ll have scattered showers and thunderstorms overnight with heavy rain possible in some places. Instability will linger into Thursday and Friday. A dry, pleasant weekend is shaping up.
A wet overnight with lingering instability Thursday and Friday
Occasional showers and storms will fill in and expand across Minnesota tonight. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible across portions of southern Minnesota into western Wisconsin.
The risk of severe weather is pretty low with a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) forecast for southwest Minnesota into tonight.
Rainfall amounts will mostly be in the 1 to 2 inch rain but a few isolated spots could see 3 or more inches.
Thursday will see cooler temps with the increased cloud cover and some instability-driven, pop-up showers and storms later in the day again.
The weekend looks dry and pleasant with highs near 80 and plenty of sunshine. The dry weather looks to persist into early next week.
