Soggy start for our Election Day forecast. Rain showers are expected to arrive in the metro a few hours after the polls open, with on-and-off rain and occasional heavy downpours likely throughout the day and into Tuesday night. The eastern two-thirds of Minnesota will receive some beneficial rainfall, while cooler air aloft could bring a few snowflakes to western and central parts of the state.
Temperatures once again will drop a few degrees throughout Tuesday, before eventually leveling off in the low to mid-40s for the metro area.
