Police are investigating a string of burglaries targeting people of Asian descent in Rochester.
The Rochester Police Department said in a statement Wednesday that the burglars targeted five homes, mainly in the northwestern part of the city, between Nov. 13 and Dec. 3.
In all cases the victims returned at the end of the day and found their houses ransacked. The thieves forced their way in through windows and doors and stole passports, jewelry, cash, and other valuables.
Investigators said they're reviewing evidence and are still working to identify the suspects.
The department is urging anyone with information to call RPD at 507-328-6800 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers online or at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Police said the burglars targeted homes in these areas:
Nov. 13 - 2700 block of Kenosha Lane NW
Nov. 28 - 3600 block Nottingham Drive NW
Dec. 2 - 2700 block of Boulder Ridge Drive NW
Dec. 3 - 4300 block of Fern Avenue SE and 1400 block of 48th Street NW
