A man was arrested Monday evening in St. Louis Park after allegedly hitting two pedestrians with his vehicle and killing one.
St. Louis Park police said officers responded at about 6 p.m. to reports of a crash on the 3900 block of Meadowbrook Road — an industrial area north of Excelsior Boulevard.
A 51-year-old woman who was hit died at the scene. A 60-year-old man was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Hennepin County prosecutors charged Jeremy Ryan Sherman, 38, with criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated. According to the complaint, Sherman denied consuming alcohol and said he had just gotten off work.
A witness told police it did not appear Sherman slowed down or attempted to brake before hitting the pedestrians.
Authorities have not identified the victims. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about it to call St. Louis Park police at 952-924-2618.
