The new Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown” makes its IMAX debut Friday And like many movie biographies, it plays a little loose with the facts.

“It’s a fable. It’s a story,” said Jon Bream, music critic for the Minnesota Star Tribune. The movie chronicles the early career of the Hibbing-born folk-star after he leaves Minnesota and moves to New York.

Dylan backed the film and the way the story conflates events doesn’t take away from its entertainment value, Bream said. But he pointed out several inaccuracies that might drive true Dylan fans crazy.

“It’s an entertaining movie. There’s no question about it,” he said.
