An Arctic high pressure system will bring sunny skies and cool temperatures. However, a warming trend is expected this week, with temperatures returning to seasonal averages by the end of the week.
Cold weather advisory
Northern Minnesota is under a cold weather advisory once again, lasting until Sunday morning. Wind chills are expected to reach around 30 below zero.
We are approaching the end of the current arctic blast. The coldest temperatures of this airmass are nearly over and a gradual warming trend towards average temperatures is on the horizon.

Sunday's high temperatures will climb into the teens, with some areas experiencing single digits both above and below zero.
Wind chills will once again cause the air temperature to feel below zero.
Gradual warm-up
From Monday to Wednesday, temperatures will recover to the upper teens, with some areas in southwestern Minnesota, near the Buffalo Ridge, seeing 20s by Wednesday.
Above-average temperatures are expected to return by the end of next week, with highs in the 20s and 30s.
A clipper system may move through on Thursday, but with limited moisture available, the chances for snowfall remain low.
