Temperatures will warm up after Wednesday. We’re looking at two clipper systems to bring at least light snow to the region Thursday and Sunday.
Temperatures warm after Wednesday with two snow chances coming up
This will be our last chilly day for a while with below-normal temperatures. Highs will range from the mid-20s in southwest Minnesota to near 20 in the Twin Cities and teens north. Those readings are just about 5 degrees below normal.
While the big storms will remain well south of Minnesota for now, we’re watching two clipper systems ahead. The first develops light snow in western Minnesota Thursday morning and will expand east by late afternoon into the overnight hours Thursday night.
Snow will be fairly light with this first clipper. The best chance of close to an inch or so will be in northwest Minnesota.
Temperatures will also be warmer Thursday into the weekend. Highs will be mostly in the 20s for southern Minnesota and teens north.
Another clipper with potentially more moisture develops for late Saturday into Sunday morning. That could deliver at least an inch or two, if not more. It will be a fluffy snowfall that could accumulate quickly. Temperatures will then dip briefly Monday and Tuesday again behind it.
