Temperatures Monday will be very mild with record highs for some. A cold front drops temperatures Monday night into Tuesday before things warm back up again midweek.
Roller coaster of spring temperatures this week
We’re in for a mild one Monday. Highs will be in the 60s for most of southern Minnesota to near 70 in parts of western Minnesota. Northern Minnesota will see highs in the 50s as will pockets of southeastern Minnesota that still have deep snow pack.

A red flag warning is posted for Monday afternoon and evening in western Minnesota due to elevated fire conditions. We’ll have gusty winds and low relative humidity values combined with warm temperatures.

Winds will be blustery in western and northwestern Minnesota, increasing the fire danger threat. Winds will gust up to 50 mph in northwestern Minnesota.

In addition, relative humidity values will drop under 20 percent in much of western and central Minnesota. That, combined with the winds and dry conditions have prompted the red flag warnings.

A cold front pushes through Monday night, touching off a few rain and snow showers for far northern Minnesota. A dusting or so is possible for places like International Falls and Ely.
Temperatures will drop back below freezing overnight with northwest winds at 10 to 20 mph.

Tuesday will be cooler, but near normal with lots of sun through high clouds. Highs will range from the low 40s south to the upper 20s north.

Highs Wednesday will be back in the 50s with 60s returning for Thursday and Friday. We could even reach 70 for much of southern Minnesota Friday.

A spring storm system will develop showers and some thunderstorms late Friday. Rain will gradually turn to snow Saturday from west to east.

At this point, models favor northwestern Minnesota for heavy snow potential Saturday into Saturday night with mostly rain farther south and east.
