A few rain, snow showers Tuesday then temps trend upward
A clipper system is moving through the region Tuesday bringing a few scattered rain showers, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours. Precipitation will be minimal for most of the state.
The showers could mix with snow initially in northwestern Minnesota but will become just rain reaching central Minnesota and the Twin Cities by late afternoon and early evening.

Afternoon highs will range from the 50s south to the 30s north. Those temperatures are near or slightly above normal.

Temperatures will continue to warm through the week to reach their peak Friday. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s across southern Minnesota Friday ahead of a weekend storm system.

Rain and snow will develop in northern Minnesota first late Friday and statewide through the weekend with potential snowfall in especially northern Minnesota. For southern Minnesota this looks to be mainly a rain event but some slushy snowfall can’t be ruled out.
