The wait is over: 3-on-3 women's basketball league Unrivaled to stop in Minneapolis

After two seasons of anticipation, Minnesota fans will get a visit from the 3-on-3 women’s basketball league Unrivaled.
The announcement that Minneapolis made the cut for a tour stop was made on the league’s social media, where it has been releasing different destinations over the past few weeks.
The Minneapolis game will be Jan. 24, according to the video. Tickets go live for Unrivaled newsletter subscribers on Thursday at 3 p.m. General sale tickets open at 4 p.m.
The league was cofounded by Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier and New York Liberty’s Breanna Stewart in 2023, with its inaugural season featuring six teams in 2025. In its second year in 2026, it grew to eight teams.

At a Lynx practice Thursday, Collier said it's special bringing the league here.
“It’s so exciting. Of course, Unrivaled is about like expanding the game and bringing it to new cities, but to bring it to a city that is so established like Minnesota, and of course we play here,” Collier said. “We already know the fans are amazing, so to be able to play in like my home city is just amazing.”
A number of Lynx players have joined the 48-player roster for 2027. Olivia Miles is set to make her rookie debut in the league. Kayla McBride will make a return after taking last season off. Courtney Williams returns after playing in both previous years. And Napheesa Collier will be back after being sidelined last year due to injuries.
Hopkins, Minn., native Paige Bueckers is set to make her return for a second season with the league.
Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve — who is not involved with coaching for Unrivaled — said she's excited Minneapolis made the tour.
“Obviously, I think we're a great place. I'm happy for our fans. I saw a lot of fans support Unrivaled down in Miami. I'm sure that's still the case, but I think anytime we can showcase our market, we're a tremendous market for women's sports as a whole, and I have no doubt that Unrivaled, you know, their leadership will be really happy with the experience they have here in Minneapolis.”
Minneapolis joins the tour list for 2027 alongside Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Detroit, which mirrors successful and interested WNBA markets. The WNBA is expanding to include franchises in Detroit in 2029 and Philadelphia in 2030.
Unrivaled’s 2027 season begins in January.
