Roller coaster temps this week, but still above average
Fluctuating temperatures are anticipated this week as two cold fronts move through the region. Wednesday and Friday will be the only days in the forecast where temperatures return to seasonal values, with chances for precipitation accompanying both fronts.
Warm Tuesday; cool front drops temps Wednesday
We’ll have one last warm day across southern Minnesota ahead of a cool front. That front will touch off some showers for mainly northern Minnesota into Tuesday night. Wednesday will be cooler.
Dry October: Minimal precipitation chances in the forecast
Our recurring pattern of dry and warm weather continues. This week, Tuesday and Thursday are the only hints of potential precipitation in the extended forecast. As a result, this October could end up ranking among the driest on record.
Another incredibly warm day Monday. Cooler air arrives Tuesday
Temperatures will be back to 20-30 degrees above normal with low 80s in southern Minnesota Monday afternoon. A cool front Tuesday will bring a light rain chance and cooler air for midweek.
Summer-like temperatures continue; cool down mid-week
Another summer-like day is expected on Monday, with high temperatures in the low 80s. Early in the week, temperatures will stay above average until Wednesday, when a cold front will bring 50s back into the forecast.
Sunny and mild Sunday; record-breaking highs
Temperatures will warm 10-20 degrees above average, and multiple climate site records could be broken on Sunday. Unusual warmth will persist into Monday, before seasonal temperatures return by Wednesday.
Clearing skies; record highs Sunday
Expect quiet, clear skies for Saturday evening before record-setting temperatures arrive on Sunday, with forecasted highs nearly 20 degrees above average.
