La Crescent Police Chief Todd Nelson says three people were trapped in Pine Creek during the flood. When rescuers arrived, they found two women clinging to trees. A third person, a man, had his leg pinned between his car and a tree. He was David Thomas Blackburn, 37, of Spring Grove. He died.
Fire restriction tightened as drought continues in northern Minnesota
