Election 2024

During Minnesota’s primary on Aug. 13, voters will determine which Democratic and Republican candidates will appear on the ballot for the general election in November. MPR News reached out to all of the candidates in the primary, providing a three-question survey for them to fill out and informing voters about who they are and their priorities if elected.

After polls close at 8 p.m., results reported by the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office will populate the race embeds linked below. View results for U.S. Senate and House races here.

Senate candidates running for the DFL primary election include incumbent Amy Klobuchar, Steve Carlson, Ahmad Hassan, George Kalberer and Ole Savior. Senate candidates for the GOP primary election include John Berman, Loner Blue, Joe Fraser, Alycia Gruenhagen, Patrick Munro, Raymond Petersen, Christopher Seymore and Royce White.
State Senate District 45 will have a special election this year to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Sen. Kelly Morrison. Candidates running for the DFL primary election include Kyle Meinen, Emily Reitan, and Ann Johnson Stewart. The State Senate candidate for the GOP primary election is Kathleen Fowke.
Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District candidates running for the GOP primary election include incumbent Brad Finstad, Gregory Goetzman and Shawn Tweten. Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District candidates running for the DFL primary election only include Rachel Bohman. 
Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District candidates running for the DFL primary election include incumbent Angie Craig and Marc Ives. Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District candidates running for the GOP primary election only include Joe Teirab. 
Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District primary election was canceled. DFL candidate Kelly Morrison and GOP candidate Tad Jude advanced to the general elections in November.
Minnesota’s 4th Congressional District candidates running for the DFL primary election only include incumbent Betty McCollum. Minnesota’s 4th Congressional District candidates running for the GOP primary election include Gene Rechtzigel and May Lor Xiong.
Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District candidates running for the DFL primary election include incumbent Ilhan Omar, Abena McKenzie, Don Samuels and Nate Schluter. Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District candidates running for the GOP primary election only include Dalia Al-Aqidi. 
Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District candidates running for the GOP primary election include incumbent Tom Emmer and Chris Corey. Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District candidates running for the DFL primary election include Jeanne Hendricks and Austin Winkelman.
Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District candidates running for the GOP primary election include incumbent Michelle Fischbach and Steve Boyd. Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District candidates running for the DFL primary election only include A. John Peters.
