More than 8,350 volunteers put in 43,971 hours over 16 days at Fargo's Sandbag Central to churn out sandbags in 2013. Photographer Ann Arbor Miller asked volunteers working at Sandbag Central last week for their insight on flood season. Volunteers wrote their thoughts on an empty sandbag with a black marker.

Photos: Manhunt in Massachusetts for Boston Marathon bombing suspects
After a car chase and shootout with police, one suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was shot and killed by police early April 19, and a manhunt was underway for his brother and second suspect, 19-year-old suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev. The two men, reportedly of Chechen origin, are suspects in the bombings at the Boston Marathon on April 15 that killed three people and wounded at least 170. The police captured Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on Friday in Watertown, Mass.

Master falconer Frank Taylor, in his backyard with his red-tailed hawk Mim. Taylor and Mim and have been training and hunting together for the past eight years. Taylor is passionate about falconry, an activity that's been around for thousands of years.
