There's an urgent call for volunteers in the search for a missing autistic Minnesota man who wandered away from a camp near Grantsburg, Wisconsin on Sunday.

25-year-old Keith Kennedy of Shoreview vanished from the Trade Lake Camp, which is for developmentally disabled adults.

Camp counselor Kari Doornink said because of his autism, Kennedy probably will not respond when people call out his name, and he's afraid of loud noises.

"The fire departments around here were out looking, they had checkpoints last night where in case if he came across the road, they had all their cars shut off so they could see if somebody came across, so he wouldn't get scared," Doornink said.

Nearly 300 volunteers searched for Kennedy last night.

Kennedy relies on anti-rejection medication because of a kidney transplant. He hasn't had the medication since he disappeared, so his kidneys could start to shut down.
