The state's largest health plan says it will offer a three-year rate guarantee to businesses that focus on improving their employees' health and wellness.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota says its SureBlue product is the first health plan of its kind offered in Minnesota.
Clients who sign up for the product agree to an initial rate that will then increase by no more than 6 percent in the second and third years. Blue Cross says that rate guarantee is far below recent insurance increases.
Blue Cross says its plan reins in health costs by moving employees over the three-year period from a traditional health care plan to a consumer-driven model with a health savings account or a health reimbursement account.
