This is the time of year that people in the Twin Cities go to an art museum and pay to watch TV commercials. In fact, they've been doing it for 30 years.
The British Arrows Awards are given annually to Britain's best television advertising. The awards turn 40 this year and the Walker Art Center is marking three decades showcasing them in the Twin Cities. Twenty-seven thousand people are expected to attend screenings this month.
MPR News arts reporter Euan Kerr spoke to the chair of the board of directors for the British Arrows, Charlie Crompton, who can't really believe Americans are into this. And joining them was Walker Art Center Moving Image Senior Curator Sheryl Mousley, who totally can.
