This September is expected to have some weeks that will feel like a summer heat.
“For the balance of the month, we will be looking at temperatures that are well above normal,” said MPR News climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley.
But Seeley emphasizes that’s not unusual. Since 1993, the average temperature of September has been gradually increasing and that might be felt this month. In 2015, Minnesota saw its warmest September in state history, with 7 degrees Fahrenheit above normal.
MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with Seeley about the warm weather trend in their weekly weather chat.
