Some lakes may still be frozen for Fishing Opener
The 66th annual Governor's Fishing Opener set for this weekend in Park Rapids may be one for the record books. Many lakes in the area still have lots of ice, enough so that even a couple of days of warm temperatures are unlikely to make it disappear in time for Saturday's walleye opener.

Red River cities focus on permanent flood protection
Residents of Fargo-Moorhead are cleaning up sandbags and removing temporary levees after the Red River's crest last week. As it turned out, most of that preparation wasn't needed for this year's flood. Both cities are now turning their attention back to building permanent levees and flood walls.
