More than half of the days in August have produced cooler than normal temperatures. But despite the cooler than normal readings for the state, Minnesota did not report the nation’s lowest temperature even once during the month.
After some of the wettest springs and summers, the southeastern portion of the state went dry in August. However, over 50 climate stations reported six inches or greater of rainfall around the state.
MPR’s Cathy Wurzer spoke with University of Minnesota professor emeritus Mark Seeley about the week in weather. Plus, he’ll host the weather quiz at the Minnesota State Fair later Friday.
