How much snow has fallen in Minnesota?
A quick burst of snow has painted our brown landscape into a winter wonderland. The clipper system will keep moving southeast. After a brief lull in snowfall, wraparound snow showers may bring another 1 to 2 inches along with blowing winds.
Season's biggest snowfall so far likely Thursday
Forecast models continue to lay out a wide zone of 3 to 7 inches of snow across most of central Minnesota, including the Twin Cities. It still looks like there will be a sharp cutoff with lower snowfall totals south of the Twin Cities.
Cooler Wednesday ahead of snow Thursday
Enjoy a dry day with a mix of clouds and sun Wednesday. It will be cooler than the last couple of days. Snow develops late Wednesday night into Thursday for much of the state.
Snow Tuesday mainly south of Twin Cities; several inches likely Thursday
We’re still 48 hours away from the bulk of Thursday’s system, so snowfall projections will likely still shift. Most forecast models suggest a wide swath of between 3 and 6 inches of fresh powder across much of Minnesota by Friday morning.
