Weekend warmup ahead with 40s in the forecast
Temperatures will warm as we head into the weekend, with light snow showers possible near the border and North Shore. Another round of precipitation is expected early next week, with northern Minnesota likely to experience the heaviest impacts.
Big weekend warmup with light snow north
Warmer air is already moving in Friday and making for a mild weekend. Light snow showers move through northern Minnesota Friday and Saturday. We’re also monitoring a storm system for Monday. 
Another chilly Thursday with warming temperatures into the weekend
High pressure settling into the region will bring clear skies and bright arctic sunshine for Thursday. Temperatures will climb into the upper teens, though wind chills will remain in the single digits, before a significant warmup arrives this weekend.
Windy with falling temperatures Wednesday into Thursday
Behind a cold front, temperatures will fall through Wednesday with gusty northwest winds. We’ll see subzero wind chills statewide Wednesday night into Thursday morning before warming up. 
Experts urge caution around thin ice after death, several rescues
A Duluth man was found dead Monday after falling through ice in Superior, Wis., and three people were also rescued from lakes in Woodbury. Ice safety experts say lots of ice around the state is still too thin to walk on, even as temperatures drop quickly.
